‘Food Evolution’ has answers. Walk into a grocery store and you’ll find yourself wandering through the maze of food choices. Bright, bold labels help guide you to your selection—natural, GMO-free, local, organic, gluten-free. The possibilities are endless. But what do we really know about those buzzwords? Why do we choose those labels? It’s fear marketing and misinformation. We’ve been scared into making a choice without the science and understanding. How did we reach this point of fear marketing? I think it starts with those three little letters—GMO. They sound scary. Intimidating. Genetically Modified Organisms sounds scarier. Frightening even. But why? Science is on GMOs’ side, and more evidence is cropping up all the time to support biotech seeds and crops. That technology is explained in a new documentary, Food Evolution. The film is rooted in facts and based on scientific literature, but it also shows the other side—anti-GMO statements driven by fear. I’ve seen the documentary twice now. Each time I’ve watched it, I’ve learned something new. Awareness and understanding of GMOs are two entirely different things. We’re aware of GMOs. But most of us don’t understand them. It’s complicated. I get that, but that doesn’t mean we substitute science with fiction. We’re entitled to our own opinions and emotions. But we have to be grounded in science. I think we’ve finally reached a tipping point on this issue. Reporters are digging deeper and talking to scientists. Consumers are looking past labels and asking the hard questions. We just have to sort out the online propaganda. And there’s plenty of that going around. Organic isn’t better than conventional agriculture. And conventional agriculture isn’t better than organic. Both are good options. Both are safe. We have lots of food choices. I’m sure you have plenty of questions, too. We all do. And no question is too simple or too complicated. Visit GMOanswers.com to ask those questions. And watch Food Evolution on iTunes. Hear from scientists to help make up your mind. Amongst all this conflict and confusion around food, how do we make the best decisions about how we feed ourselves? Feast on Facts with Food Evolution www.foodevolutionmovie.com Available on iTunes
